SC/ST Cell – Sarvajanik Commerce College, Godhra

Introduction

The SC/ST Cell of Sarvajanik Commerce College, Godhra has been established in accordance with the guidelines of the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). The Cell is committed to safeguarding the interests of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) students, faculty, and staff by ensuring equal opportunities, inclusive practices, and social justice in the institution.

Objectives

  • To implement UGC, Central, and State Government regulations related to SC/ST welfare.
  • To ensure reservation policies in admissions, appointments, and promotions.
  • To provide guidance and counseling for academic, financial, social, and career-related issues.
  • To organize awareness programmes, seminars, and workshops for SC/ST students.
  • To create a platform for grievance redressal in cases of caste-based discrimination.

Functions of the Cell

  • Monitor the implementation of government orders on SC/ST welfare.
  • Assist SC/ST students in availing scholarships, fellowships, and financial aid.
  • Address grievances related to caste-based discrimination in the college.
  • Maintain records of beneficiaries and activities for NAAC and IQAC reports.
  • Organize training sessions, coaching, and skill development programmes.

Grievance Redressal

Students and staff may submit complaints regarding caste-based discrimination through:

All complaints will be handled with confidentiality and sensitivity.

Reports & Documentation

The SC/ST Cell submits reports of meetings, activities, and student support measures to the IQAC and includes them in the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) for NAAC accreditation.
